Hello, friends.
I recently had the opportunity to be a guest on Discover the Story with Andrea Boeshaar. It airs on her website and on CWA Radio. I’ll post a link below.
During the interview, I talk about writing, publication, and my ongoing journey with Parkinson’s Disease. I am happy to have the opportunity to share a little about my story and my seasons of life.
However, as I sat in church yesterday and listened to a message from the gospel of John, I was struck by my omission. My identity is not linked to the novels in print. It’s not primarily because I’m a wife, mother, grandmother. It’s not because I was a teacher and elementary principal. It’s certainly not because I have PD. My identity first and foremost is because I’m a child of God, saved by the grace of God through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. He’s the reason that I have journeyed through the seasons of life with peace. He’s the reason that I have peace with my disease.
When I listened to Andrea’s closing comments about the season’s of life, I was once again awed by the goodness of God. My life is rich–rich with memories of the past and with hope for the future.
Thank you for taking time to listen to my story.
Blessings,
Kathleen Neely
Amen and amen!
Paul said it best: “For me to live is CHRIST and to die is gain”. We only think we have done things on our own, BUT GOD who is the author and finisher of our faith is the master artist who put it all together!
So nice to hear from you, Mary. Thanks for the reminder of Paul’s words.
Blessings to you.
Your peace — and joy — are obvious, Kathy. Thank you for living out what you believe and sharing it with us. I look forward to listening to the podcast. 🙂
