Those of you who know me can attest to the fact that I rarely engage in political conversations in public. For those who know me well, they understand that this is not for lack of opinions or insight. However, this precarious election, along with the social issues and pandemic, allows no one to be silent.

In one week, we say good bye to the ugly political ads that rarely speak to the issues people need to hear. We will be finished watching debates that exemplify behaviors unacceptable in polite society. What I want to share with you today is encouragement through scripture and songs that speak to discouragement, hope, God’s sovereignty, and God’s faithfulness. May they carry you through this final week with a prayer on your lips and hope in your heart.

When the polls close and the votes are counted, whatever the outcome, we can lift our hands in victory.  God remains our Most High. He doesn’t change in power or goodness, a combination that allows peace through whatever storm we face.

Isaiah 43:2  When you pass through the waters, I will be with  you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.
